Catering To The Eco-Sisters in Oregon?
In the column, ArchbishopVlazny emphasizes the environment and cannot bring himself to write a strong indictment against abortion / population control. He missed the Pope’s central message. Vlazny even apologizes to his readers,
“In recent years the religious women of this country have been strong proponents of responsible care of our environment. Pope Benedict probably surprised some people and may have even annoyed others.”—-Archbishop John Vlazny, ‘Respecting ecology, environmental and human.
By contrast, note how in the following editorial by a strong pro-life Catholic, John Henry-Westin, rightly interprets the Pope’s Prayer For Peace, emphasizing the evil fruit of the environmental movement, population control.
